First up, we have Coach Kylie doing an exercise called the “Jefferson Curl”. It’s a great exercise for developing back mobility and hamstring flexibility.
Next we have Human 2.0 owner/operator/orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Chris working on his ring rows. This is an example of some of the basic gymnastics strength training work that we do.
Here is our physiotherapist Jethro and Coach Spencer going over VMO weakness. They briefly discuss how it happens, what it can do to you, and what to do about it. Note that even though we are serious about our training, medicine and rehabilitation, we are still just one big family, and we like to have fun as well!
Here we have Jethro again (ex-CIS football lineman), this time working with Coach Kylie to demonstrate more gymnastics strength training, in this case a “skin the cat”. Goes to show that you don’t have to be 5 feet tall and weigh 100 lbs to be able to do this kind of exercise.
Here is Coach Tyler demonstrating an exercise to the good people at the YMCA Connexion Conference (2015) that can reveal good (or bad) shoulder mobility. Yes, we give talks and do workshops! You can come to us, or we can come to you. Read more about that here.
Here is Coach Rick demonstrating the “crab” walk, one of many different natural movement patterns that we teach.
As part of our “Train the Trainer” series, Coach Tyler (Olympic Lifting Specialist) goes over the fine points of the “jump and catch” with Coaches Joey and Spencer. We pride ourselves on really paying attention to detail, and making sure people work through progressions as they are capable, not just so they can get through it.
