Welcome to our hip exercises page!
Hip health is just one component of a person’s overall wellbeing, and to develop hip health, we are recommending some of our favourite hip exercises. Now, we’ve heard some people say that strong and properly aligned hips are the foundation around which every other part of the body functions. Whether that’s true or not, healthy hips are important for sure.
Unfortunately, many of us don’t have the healthiest of hips. Why not, you ask? Well, if you sit a lot of the time – which the majority of us do – or if you do traditional fitness training that is mostly conditioning-based and forward-focused – then you will likely have imbalances in your body that you might not even know about. If you do have those imbalances, then you could be vulnerable to injury.
How to correct this problem? Get those hips moving in as many ways as possible! Sounds simple, and it is – sort of. What’s not so simple is being consistent with these movements, which could mean changing your workout, your lifestyle and your day-to-day habits.
In an effort to make things easier for you, we’ve put together a variety of exercise tutorials and mini-workouts that you can do starting today in an effort to strengthen and mobilize your hips better.
Most of the hip exercises that you will see on this page don’t require a gym, and little to no equipment. You can do them anytime, anywhere. Remember, you don’t need to do a full workout to change your body for the better. In fact, it’s more beneficial almost to intersperse these exercises throughout your day to break up all that sitting time. So here you go. Let us know how you make out. Where they easy? Were they difficult? Which ones did you like the best? We’d suggest intentional “hip training” and doing a variety of these hip exercises at least three times a week.
